Reports about a change in the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council; Pezeshkian confirmed there are “differences”

🔸Following reports about the resignation of Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf? (محمدباقر ذوالقدر), the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, from his post, the President of Iran confirmed the existence of “differences” in this regard.

🔸Some Iranian media on Saturday, 17 Mordad reported that Masoud Pezeshkian, on the sidelines of a meeting with reporters, implicitly confirmed this resignation and said: “A number of differences have been raised, and we are trying to resolve them.”

🔸Pezeshkian did not provide further details about the nature of these differences.

🔸In recent days, some media had reported the resignation of Ghalibaf? (ذوالقدر) and the appointment of Mohsen Rezayi as the new secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.

🔸This is while, hours earlier, the daily Sazندگی, in its Saturday issue, citing an informed source, announced that Masoud Pezeshkian opposed the resignation of the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.

🔸This newspaper, the media organ of the Executives of Construction (Kargozaran) Party, wrote in its report, quoting an informed source, that the news of the resignation of the secretary of this council “is not true,” and that Pezeshkian told Zolghadr that he should continue his work “with strength and power.”

🔸However, Sazندگی confirmed that Zolghadr had previously submitted his resignation, “but this resignation faced Masoud Pezeshkian’s opposition, and as a result he remained in his position.”

🔸Mohammad-Bagher Zolghadr was appointed as the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council in early Farvardin, after the killing of Ali Larijani in the course of the war between the United States and Israel with Iran.
