🔻Press TV: If U.S. obstruction stops, Iran and Oman’s understanding in the Strait of Hormuz is within reach

Press TV, the English-language television channel of IRIB, the state broadcaster of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has said, citing an informed source, that “if U.S. obstruction and some other actions are halted, bilateral understanding between Iran and Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz will be within reach.”

Press TV, citing its own sources, says the aim of these negotiations is to reach an agreement on a new route in the Strait of Hormuz: “This mid-corridor can provide safe passage through the strait, and with the implementation of this corridor, both the northern and southern routes will be stopped.”

An Iranian official told this network that the talks are between the two coastal states of Iran and Oman, and that “it has nothing to do with others, including the United States, but Donald Trump, through repeated interventions, is trying to convey the impression that this process is influenced.”
