🔻Axios, the American publication, citing two regional sources and an American official, has reported that the United States, Iran and Oman are close to reaching a temporary agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Axios’s news sources, the U.S. government hopes to announce the deal on Wednesday.

Details of the possible agreement have not yet been released, and none of the three parties has officially confirmed the report. However, on Tuesday, U.S. media outlets, citing their own sources, tried to report the main points of the negotiations and the provisions that the parties are seeking. As Axios reported, the negotiation framework has been these:

- All incoming ships to the Persian Gulf will transit via the northern route and in waters of Iran. - All outgoing ships from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman will transit via the southern route and in Oman’s waters, with coordination from Iran. - During the 60-day implementation period of the interim agreement, no fees or charges will be collected from the ships passing through. - The parties to the agreement will undertake, within 30 days, to carry out mine-clearing operations in the middle route of the Strait of Hormuz. 📸REUTERS
