Pierre Poilievre, leader of Canada’s Conservative Party, said in a speech at the Cyrus the Great event in Toronto that the Islamic Republic, a “self-styled terrorist autocracy” that has taken freedom from the people of Iran, will be overthrown and the people of Iran will reach freedom.

Poilievre, thanking the human-rights aspects of the Cyrus the Great charter and the thousands of years of Iranian people’s culture rooted in freedom, said: “I look forward to the day when Prince Reza Pahlavi returns to Iran to raise the flag of the Lion and Sun.”
