🔻Peزشکیان once again stressed the need to end the “neither war nor peace” situation

Massoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, has once again emphasized the need to end the “neither war nor peace” situation, and said that Ali Khamenei, the former Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, had also expressed this view before his death.

Mr. Pezeshkian said at a ceremony marking Doctors’ Day that in Mr. Khamenei’s meetings and speeches, he had “openly stated that we must move out of this neither war nor peace situation.”

The president of Iran added that to achieve this goal, decisions must be made based on “prudence, expediency, wisdom and honor,” and said: “We are not supposed to submit humbly in front of the enemy and bow our heads. With power, but with logic, we can sit down and solve our problems.”

Mr. Pezeshkian also said that in the Supreme National Security Council he had repeatedly emphasized that the memorandum of understanding being discussed with the United States, in the view of those who had played a role in the negotiations and decision-making, was “the best agreement.”

His latest remarks come in continuation of his positions over the past few days about the necessity of ending the war and moving toward a political solution.
