🔺Pakistan confirms the halt of trade at two border crossings with Iran

▪Pakistan has halted cross-border trade with Iran at two border crossings—Taftan and Gabd–Rimdan—and a local official in the province of Balochistan described the measure as temporary.

▪Baqtiyar Ismail, governor of Chagai County, wrote on the X network that the decision was taken to improve border management and support anti-terrorism actions, and that the border will be reopened “as soon as effective measures are adopted.” He did not set a specific timeline for reopening.

▪The closures were carried out as Pakistani officials are facing cases involving the kidnapping of a number of police forces and senior officials. Local officials did not confirm any link between the two.
