Oil prices fell on Tuesday despite tensions remaining high in the Persian Gulf region.
According to Reuters, traders weighed the prospect of more diesel supply from Russia against the risk of supply disruption after attacks on Saudi Arabia.
Accordingly, Brent oil fell by $1.30 to $105.35 per barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude also reached $92.49.
Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said Russia has agreed to supply diesel to global markets and that his administration will temporarily lift sanctions on Russian fuel.
Analysts believe that any reassurance regarding a continued energy supply could speed up the downward trend in prices.
