NBC News, citing U.S. officials and people close to U.S. President Donald Trump, reported that he, at a meeting last week, expressed dissatisfaction with the available military options against the Islamic Republic and with the inability to reach an agreement to end the war.

According to the report, disagreement within the U.S. administration about a strategy to end the war continues, and U.S. officials say that despite tactical successes, the lack of a clear strategy has made planning an end to the fighting difficult.

The White House denied the report about Trump losing his composure and said that the final decision in all cases rests with the U.S. president.
