NASA marked the 55th anniversary of the Apollo 15 mission’s landing on the Moon by publishing this image.

On July 30, 1971 (August 8, 1350), astronauts David Scott and Jim Irwin landed with the lunar module Falcon in the “Hadley–Apennine” region.

Apollo 15 was the fourth crewed mission to land on the Moon and, with broad scientific objectives, set multiple records in space exploration.
