Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the Arab League, in an interview with Al Arabiya, said that Arab countries’ relations with Iran are not formed based on calculations by the United States and Israel.
In another part of this interview, Fahmy said that Arab countries have shown goodwill toward Iran, but Tehran must take into account its relations with neighboring countries in order to build trust. He added that Iran cannot impose anything on the region, and long-term stability requires observing the principle of good neighborliness.
The Secretary-General of the Arab League also said that he told Abbas Araghchi, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, that any interference with any Arab land is unacceptable. Fahmy and Araghchi had met on September 25 on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York.
