Massoud Pezeshkian, president of the Islamic Republic, rejected the rumor of his resignation and said he will not resign and will stand firm.

He said this in an interview that is scheduled to be broadcast on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s state broadcaster, and emphasized that his actions and statements are in line with the leader of the Islamic Republic.

The rumor of Pezeshkian’s resignation has been raised repeatedly since Khordad, and each time it has been denied. Elias Motaharati, head of the government’s information council, said that so far this issue has been raised six times, and the goal has been to weaken the government.

He added that Pezeshkian is not someone who “turns the natural differences that exist among different individuals and institutions into a fight.”

The Pezeshkian government has, since the end of the war, been subject to harsh criticism from hardliners and radical currents within the Islamic Republic.
