Massoud Pezeshkian, head of the government in the Islamic Republic, said on Thursday, the 9th of Mehr, in a meeting with entrepreneurs and economic activists that the United States must “get the idea that it can bring us to our knees through terrorism out of its head.”

Pezeshkian said that despite maritime restrictions, the government is trying to remove obstacles so that exports, imports, and economic interactions across land borders with countries including Pakistan, Iraq, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan can be expanded.

He also said that the Islamic Republic has not and will not “run away from dialogue,” and added that the United States, by imposing restrictions and sanctions, is seeking to “create a crisis” for the Islamic Republic.

Referring to economic problems and energy imbalance, Pezeshkian said the government is seeking to remove barriers to the activities of businesses and producers, and emphasized that economic decisions must be made considering the level of “social tolerance.”
