Reuters reported that the supply of heavy fuel oil at the port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates has increased in recent months, and that the port has been able to resume fuel delivery to ships and increase exports to Asia.

Fujairah, one of the world’s largest marine bunkering hubs and located outside the Strait of Hormuz, saw a sharp decline in sales in the second quarter after the start of the war on 9 Esfand 1404 and disruptions in fuel supply from suppliers inside the Persian Gulf.

Based on data from Kpler, the United Arab Emirates imported 2.6 million tons of heavy fuel oil in the third quarter of the year, while the figure was 845 thousand tons in the second quarter.

With the increase in supply, the United Arab Emirates has once again become the largest exporter of heavy fuel oil in the Middle East. The country’s exports exceeded 1.4 million tons in September and reached the highest level in more than a year; most of these shipments were sent to Southeast Asia.

However, sales of marine fuel and Fujairah’s heavy fuel oil stocks are still lower than the pre-war level.
