Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, said that the Islamic Republic wanted to expand its conventional military capabilities so that no country could attack its nuclear program.

Rubio added that Tehran intended to rely on a wide range of missiles and drones to threaten the countries of the Middle East and U.S. forces in the region, while also advancing its nuclear weapons construction program.
