🔺Majlis Research Center warning about weaknesses in the banking network and the halt of everyday purchases in the war

▪The Majlis Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in a report on the resilience of the payment network in wartime conditions, concluded that damage to each of the four systems of Sattna, Pay a, Shetab and Sheparak would stop the payment chain—from large-scale settlements to everyday small purchases.

▪The center identified the most important existing weakness as the lack of a tested framework for prioritizing essential services and alternative routes.

▪The report examined the issue by relying on the framework of the International Monetary Fund and global experiences, from attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure to telecommunications disruption in Canada. It concluded that the stability of the payment system does not depend solely on banking systems and is tied to the basic infrastructure of electricity and telecommunications.
