Lebanon’s negotiating delegation left Beirut on Monday for Rome. The seventh round of talks mediated by the United States will be held from Tuesday to Thursday at the U.S. Embassy in Rome.

Based on a report by the Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, citing a Lebanese source, the Beirut delegation is asking for a complete ceasefire. Lebanon’s proposal includes stopping all hostilities and a U.S. guarantee that Israel will refrain from destroying the cities and villages occupied by bulldozers.

According to the same report, Israel has sent a message to Washington saying that Hezbollah must immediately evacuate its military array in the Al-Tayr Mountains.

Israel is prepared to allow the Lebanese army to evacuate the area with mediation, but said that if the talks fail, it will take full military control of it.
