🔸The latest figures on Iran’s water resources show that despite increased rainfall since the beginning of the water year, pressure on the country’s water reserves continues and 45% of dam reservoir capacity remains empty.

🔸According to a report by the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA) on Tuesday, the third of Shahrivar, citing Iran’s Water Resources Management Company, despite increased rainfall and water entering dams up to the 24th of Mordad, 45% of the capacity of Iran’s dam reservoirs is still empty, and the level of dam fill has decreased by 2% over the past week.

🔸Based on this report, since the start of the current water year, 46.25 billion cubic meters of water have entered dam reservoirs, which is a 69% increase compared with 27.38 billion cubic meters in the same period last year.

🔸Iran’s Water Resources Management Company also announced that the volume of water available in the reservoirs is 28.72 billion cubic meters, and although this figure indicates a 36% increase compared with last year, a large portion of the country’s dam capacity remains without water.
