Kazem Qaribabadi, Deputy for Legal and International Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on Sunday evening, 19 Mehr, at a press conference in Hormozgan that ships that pass through the Strait of Hormuz without coordination with the Islamic Republic will face punitive measures by the armed forces of this country.

He added: “We are in wartime conditions, not peacetime conditions. No commercial ship can pass through the Strait of Hormuz without coordination with the Islamic Republic.”
The Deputy for Legal and International Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said that a bilateral understanding with Oman regarding the entry and exit routes of the Strait of Hormuz has been finalized and that the related map has also been agreed upon by the two countries. According to him, the Islamic Republic intends to register this map with the International Maritime Organization.
