Kazem Gharibabadi, deputy for legal and international affairs at the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said he has been informed of the nearing completion of the understanding between Iran and Oman regarding new arrangements for the transit of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz, and stated that this agreement does not mean the full reopening of the strait, but rather a new model for the passage of ships that will take a significant portion of the route through Iran’s territorial waters.
