Kambiz Toona, a member of Iran International’s editorial team, said that despite the intensification of political and economic pressures, the path of diplomacy between the Islamic Republic and the United States remains open, but both sides use different strategies to reach an agreement. He added that the United States emphasizes increasing pressure, and the Islamic Republic is trying to shift the costs of this pressure to the region and other countries.

Toona also, by referring to remarks by Marco Rubio, said that the U.S. position regarding preventing the Islamic Republic from obtaining nuclear weapons and ending support for armed groups is non-partisan, and, according to him, Washington knows the main decision-makers in the Islamic Republic in Tehran.
