🔻Japan is facing intensifying summer heat. In just the past two months, more than 53,000 people have been treated for heatstroke, and deaths of 79 people have also been reported.

Now a device called “Dohaymon”—whose name is almost equivalent to “cooling box”—is being set up in public spaces and is also being sold to businesses. Each device costs 1.5 million yen (equivalent to $9,407).

Tetsuya Nakayama, the company’s CEO, said the design of this device was inspired by vending machines for frozen products.
