🔻Pakistan is ready to cooperate to implement the maritime coalition statement led by Saudi Arabia

The spokesperson of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that Pakistan is a member of the maritime coalition led by Saudi Arabia and is prepared to cooperate in implementing the coalition’s statement with the aim of protecting supply chains and shipping security.

Tahir Andarbai, on Wednesday, at the weekly meeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad, condemned an attack on a commercial vessel in the Red Sea that resulted in the deaths of three Pakistani citizens.

He said that Pakistan, under international laws, supports freedom of navigation in international waterways and maritime security.

Tahir Andarbai added that Pakistan is a member and a signatory of the maritime coalition declared by Saudi Arabia and is committed to the statement of this coalition.

He said that Pakistan is ready to cooperate with Saudi Arabia and other partners of this coalition to implement the provisions of its statement and to ensure the security of global supply chains and shipping.

On July 30, Saudi Arabia announced its plan to form a multinational naval defense coalition aimed at protecting international shipping and energy transfer routes in the Red Sea region.

Tensions between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthis in this region have escalated.
