Eraj; a back-and-forth between the Isfahan school and Tehran that was remembered in “Ferdin Cinema”

🔸The passing of Iraj may be considered the end of a generation that emerged from the Isfahan school.

🔸With his appearance on the program “Gholhay-e Jaavedan,” alongside Ali Tejvidi, Farhang Sharif, and Amir Naser Eftetah, Iraj reached the borders of fame, but what made him beloved was the so-called “Film Farsi” cinema and the presence of the reading on Ferdin’s face—whose peak he experienced in “Ganj-e Qarun,” directed by Siamak Yasemi. His connection to cinema pushed him toward more hybrid works, based on the vocal style of the Tehran school.

🔸Amir A'la Adili, the son of Houshang Adili, a film producer from before the Revolution who, in 2016, published the book “Iraj, the Genius of Iranian Singing” together with Ali Khorshidoust, said in an interview with Mohammad Zarghami that, over the years, through his father’s friendship with this singer, he had been close to him and had witnessed his artistic life.
