The Israeli army said in a statement that Shadi Abu Haseira, the main money changer of Hamas’s military wing, was killed in an airstrike in the city of Gaza on Sunday. According to the army, Abu Haseira ran the “Geneva” exchange network, which transferred tens of millions of shekels as foreign currency to Hamas’s military wing.
The Israeli army added that these funds were used to finance Hamas forces, rebuild military infrastructure, and plan attacks. Based on the statement, Abu Haseira also ran the “Gardena Professional” company in Gaza, which played a role in moving financial resources.
The Israeli army further said that Abu Haseira had recently been involved in designing attacks against its forces and Israeli civilians, and in efforts to restore Hamas’s capabilities. The army called these actions a “systematic violation of the ceasefire” and announced that it would continue targeting financial infrastructure linked to Hamas’s military activity.
