Israel’s Channel Kan reported that the Islamic Republic has not yet agreed to Hamas’s request to resume financial support for this group.
Erfan Ghaneyfard, a Middle East affairs analyst, said this decision could indicate Tehran’s dissatisfaction with Hamas’s performance and a reduced willingness by the Islamic Republic to expand the conflict on this front. He added that after October 7, Israel does not see the threat from Hamas as merely tactical, but rather assesses it as part of a network of transnational threats backed by the Islamic Republic.
