It seems that Eisenkot has greater support among those advising the president on the task of forming a government (including Arab community parties); therefore, he may be the option that has a better chance than others of being given the government-formation mandate in the first place.

What can he do from this position? Although forming a government seems out of reach, he may still be able to advance initiatives in the Knesset.
