🔶 IRGC: Three oil tankers were targeted in the Strait of Hormuz and stopped
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Wednesday, 7 Mordad (29 July), that it targeted and stopped three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz that, according to the organization, had “ignored maritime warnings.”
In an announcement numbered 53 by the IRGC Navy, it said that the tankers “continued to move along an unsafe and unlawful route despite warnings” and were targeted hours earlier.
The IRGC also claimed that it “has control of the Strait of Hormuz” and warned that “illegal interventions” by the U.S. Army in the region “will not go unanswered.”
So far, U.S. officials or independent sources have not confirmed these claims, and no details about the identity, flag, or ownership of the tankers in question have been published.
