🔸Iranian government television reported on Monday, the 5th of Mordad, that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps prevented six ships from passing through the Strait of Hormuz early on the same day with the intention of leaving the Persian Gulf.

🔸IRIB’s news agency wrote on its Telegram channel: “In the early hours of this Monday, 5 Mordad, 6 violating vessels, by switching off their navigation and tracking systems... intended to pass through an illegal and unsafe route in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz.”

🔸The reference in this report is to the southern section of the Strait of Hormuz near the coasts of Oman, which has stated that it follows international laws for the use of waterways. In response, Iran insists that the ships must travel through the route determined by the IRGC.

🔸IRIB’s news agency also wrote that one of these six ships “had an accident,” but so far no other source has confirmed this report.

🔸On Sunday as well, Tasnim News Agency, which is close to the IRGC, had claimed that an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz exploded after colliding with a sea mine.
