🔻 The Iran team has protested the annulment of Fatemeh Mohiti‌zadeh’s result in the long jump event of the heptathlon at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi–Nagoya.

According to the text of Iran’s protest, the athlete’s shoes had been inspected during the equipment check process before the start of the competition and were approved by the meet officials, but after the end of the event and following another team’s protest, her result was annulled after her shoes were deemed to be non-compliant.

Before this decision, Mohiti‌zadeh had competed in six events, and with 4,925 points she was in second place in the overall standings, with only one event remaining in the heptathlon. She finished third in the 100 meters hurdles (third hurdle), first in the first high jump, second in the second shot put, and third in the 200 meters. In the long jump, she took first place with a mark of 5.97 meters, and in the javelin she finished eighth.

The Iran team said the athlete acted based on official approval before the competition and requested that the case be reviewed again by the appeals board.
