Iran’s Reform Front criticizes the judiciary over filing complaints against critics of recent executions

🔸 Iran’s Reform Front, in an open letter addressed to Gholamhoseyn محسنی Ejei, the head of the judiciary of the Islamic Republic, criticized the filing of charges against critics of the recent executions.

🔸 This group, close to the reformist faction of Iran’s ruling establishment, in its letter called the act of “equating legal and civil criticism with actions against the country’s security and limiting it with security-oriented approaches” incompatible with the “spirit of the constitution” of the Islamic Republic.

🔸 In the letter, expressing concern about the issuance and implementation of some death sentences related to the protests of Dey 1404, it said that “security is not only ensured through criminal and judicial برخورد, and it is expected that, in sensitive cases, all stages of proceedings be carried out with transparency, full observance of legal standards, and guarantees of defendants’ rights to the defense.”

🔸 The judiciary of the Islamic Republic had recently said that it would form a judicial case for those who have criticized the recent executions.
