Iran’s Navy says that a “violating” oil tanker collided with a mine in the east of the Strait of Hormuz.

In a public relations statement from Iran’s Navy, it said that the tanker “was attempting to pass through the prohibited and unsafe area in the east of the Strait of Hormuz by turning off its tracking systems.”

Based on this statement, after colliding with the mine, the tanker “caught fire.”
