The airing of Iran International’s narrative documentary ‘The Court of History’ has been met with differing reactions regarding transitional justice and how those who ordered and carried out crimes in the Islamic Republic should be dealt with.

Jomshid Barzegar, a journalist and producer of the narrative documentary ‘The Court of History,’ says that the discussion of transitional justice is a national issue in which all Iranian citizens should participate. According to him, the issue is not only the punishment of those responsible for crimes; uncovering the truth, restorative and punitive justice, and creating a structure that prevents the repetition of violence are important parts of this path.
