🔸Information received by Radio Farda indicates that the risk of the imminent execution of the death sentence for Alireza Sepahi and Abolfazl Sepahi, two first cousins convicted in the “Meydan Alikhani” case in Isfahan during the protests of Dey 1404 (December 2025-January 2026), has become serious.
🔸Based on this information, the families of these two prisoners have been called for their “final visit,” and it is possible that their sentences will be carried out on the morning of Tuesday, the sixth of Mordad.
🔸Somayeh Afshar, the mother of Alireza Sepahi and the mother of Abolfazl Sepahi’s spouse, has also been sentenced to five years in prison in this case and is currently incarcerated.
🔸It is not yet clear whether any other detainees have also been called for a final visit.
🔸In Tir (July) of this year, the committee tracking the status of detainees in Iran announced that the death sentence of 12 protesters from Dey in Isfahan, in the “Meydan Alikhani” case in this city, has been “confirmed” by the Supreme Court.
🔸Meanwhile, an independent UN fact-finding panel previously warned about the risk of execution for 10 detainees in the Isfahan protests and had asked Islamic Republic officials to immediately halt the executions.
🔸The sentences in this case have faced criticism from human rights institutions.
