🔻Increase in Iraq’s oil exports despite disruption in shipping through the Strait of Hormuz

The Iraqi Ministry of Oil said in a report that the country’s crude oil exports have reached about 2.7 million barrels per day.

Salim al-Rakaabi, the spokesman for the ministry, told the Iraqi state news agency that the ministry is working to maintain and increase export volumes in conditions that he described as a “global energy crisis in the Strait of Hormuz.”

According to him, crude oil exports have grown significantly from around 200,000 barrels per day in May and have reached the current level.

He also noted that plans are underway to increase the number of export cargoes via the northern and southern terminals and to maximize the capacity of Iraq’s oil export pipeline to Turkey.
