🔸 Hungary’s Prime Minister announced that the country’s only nuclear power plant will be completely shut down for the first time in the past 44 years.

🔸 According to Viktor Magyar, the unprecedented drop in the water level of the Danube River has made it impossible to continue operating the “Paks” power plant.

🔸 This plant, which supplies about one-third of Hungary’s electricity, depends on the Danube River for cooling the reactors.

🔸 Hungary’s weather officials have also predicted that temperatures in the coming days will exceed 40 degrees Celsius and that a 42-degree Celsius record may be repeated.
