🔶 Houthis attack a Saudi oil tanker

The Yemeni Houthi group said on Tuesday, July 28, that it targeted a Saudi tanker in the Red Sea with ballistic missiles. The group claimed that the vessel, after violating a naval blockade of ships associated with Saudi Arabia, was forced to turn back.

Yahya Saree, a Houthi military spokesperson, wrote in a statement on the social media platform X that the operation targeted the Saudi tanker “NCC Ghazal” and accused it of violating the blockade and “ignoring the warnings that were given.”

Saree said: “The tanker was hit with several ballistic missiles and was forced to return.” He added that the group’s forces will continue to carry out the naval blockade on ships linked to Saudi Arabia under the principle of “blockade in exchange for blockade.”

The Houthis’ claim cannot be independently verified, and no immediate response has been provided by Saudi officials or the company operating the vessel.
