Hossein Hossan-Yari, a military affairs expert, said Saudi Arabia has an advantage over the Houthis in conventional military capability, but despite having a powerful air force and support from foreign countries, it has still not been able to stop the Houthis’ missile and drone attacks.
Hossan-Yari described the defense agreement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and Turkey as having no serious military impact, and added that defensive support from Western countries, including the deployment of British fighter jets, is mostly limited to intercepting limited attacks. In his view, without effective military action against the Houthis, the threat posed by this group to Saudi Arabia, the Red Sea, and the energy market will continue.
