Hossein Aghayi, a member of Iran International’s editorial staff, referring to the remarks of Mohsen Rezaei, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic, about transferring Tehran’s conditions for stopping the war to the United States via Qatar, said that under conditions of a naval blockade, sanctions pressure, and limited U.S. military attacks, the Islamic Republic is trying to persuade Washington to return to negotiations.
He added that the Islamic Republic is pursuing two tracks at the same time; looking to diplomacy and raising the level of tension by unsettling the Strait of Hormuz and the Houthis’ actions in the Bab al-Mandab.
