The Turkish foreign minister also said that following the Houthi attacks, Saudi Arabia may need military capabilities in certain technical areas, and that Turkey has no problem meeting these needs within the framework of the “Mecca defense alliance” with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Fidan said that attacks on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Saudi Arabia are serious, and that Turkey, within the framework of an agreement among the three countries, is alongside Saudi Arabia.

In response to a question about the assessment by some Israeli and Iranian sources that the “Mecca alliance” is only on paper, the Turkish foreign minister said: “We laugh at these claims. The Mecca alliance will become a very effective mechanism that will change the balance of power.”
