Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of Germany, during his trip to Kyiv, announced: “We will send a military aid package worth about one billion euros to Ukraine.”

The German chancellor, regarding an explosion in Kyiv and warning sirens heard in this city at the same time as his trip to Ukraine, said: “We will not be intimidated by the attack during our visit to Ukraine.”

Merz also said that helping Ukraine is in Germany’s own interest.
