On Friday, 6 Shahrivar 1405, some families of those seeking justice for political prisoners executed in the summer of 1988 were again prevented from entering Khavaran, and were forced to leave their flowers behind the closed doors of the site.

Families of political prisoners who, in an extra-legal action, were sentenced to death in court proceedings lasting only a few minutes and were executed secretly, have for years faced restrictions and bans on entry by security institutions in order to hold memorial ceremonies for their loved ones at Khavaran, and this year as well they commemorated the victims of the 67 massacre behind the closed doors of the site.
