French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu has called a meeting to address high school student protests across the country, the Franceinfo radio station reported.

In Saint-Denis, the northern suburb of Paris, police officers used tear gas against students. According to the TF1 broadcaster, as many as 500 people have been detained in the first half of Thursday.
