🔶Summoning the British Ambassador in Tehran; Detention of an Iranian-British national over the Fairford case
Britain reported the arrest of a person holding Iranian citizenship on charges of involvement in planning an attack on the Fairford base.
The UK’s Counter-Terrorism Police said it has arrested a new individual (the sixth accused), a dual national English-Iranian, in connection with a possible attack on the Fairford air base.
The arrested individual is suspected of “preparing terrorist acts,” and the police are investigating the possibility of involvement by a foreign country in this matter.
Hours earlier, in connection with accusations raised against Iran regarding the incident at the Fairford air base in the UK, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the British ambassador in Tehran.
Majid Takht Ravanchi, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, in that meeting emphasized “the need for an official explanation by the British government in this regard and the correction of its improper approach toward Iran.”
