🔶 French language training center affiliated with the French Embassy in Tehran was sealed

A French language training center in Tehran, referred to as CLF (Centre de Langue Française de Téhéran) in short, was sealed by Iran’s judiciary on Sunday, September 29.

According to IRNA, the judiciary said: “In continuation of activities and actions that are unlawful and outside the diplomatic norms of France, a center described as being non-legal and affiliated with the French embassy, known as CLF, was sealed.”

The media center of the judiciary, while stating this claim, added: “Despite multiple warnings issued by legal bodies regarding obtaining an activity permit in accordance with the laws and regulations of the country, unfortunately this center refused to take this into account and, in practice, disrespected the laws of the country.”

According to the judiciary, the center is accused of using the title of language training to carry out ‘anti-Iranian-Islamic cultural projects’ and, contrary to national security, of carrying out ‘identification, network-building, and facilitating the departure of elites from the country.’

As stated in this report, the judiciary once again emphasized that respect for and implementation of the laws and regulations of host countries by foreign embassies is mandatory under international practice.
