▪The director of the War Program, “Threats, Unconventional Threats, and Terrorism” at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said that the Firford case is more consistent with the recent pattern of the Islamic Republic in using hired agents and intermediaries.
▪A former counter-terrorism official at the U.S. Treasury Department and the Federal Police said the Islamic Republic has increasingly tried to create distance between itself and the executors of foreign operations.
