The Israeli army shelled several areas in the suburbs of southern Lebanon. According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, the overnight shelling targeted areas in the southern provinces.
The report did not provide any details about casualties or damage, and the Israeli army has made no comment about these attacks.
Israel’s attacks on southern Lebanon have continued in recent days. On Saturday, Israeli fighter jets carried out two airstrikes on an area in southern Lebanon, and the army’s artillery also shelled an area in the same part on Wednesday.
The Israeli army controls about 6 percent of Lebanon’s territory, and despite a ceasefire arranged through U.S. mediation, it has refused to withdraw.
A new round of negotiations between Israel, Lebanon, and the United States is set to be held in Rome this month.
