Forough Kanaanī, a sociologist, said that holding events such as “Cyrus the Great” shows Western politicians that for the period after the Islamic Republic there is an alternative and political, economic, and managerial capacities.
She added that these conferences can reduce concerns about Iran’s future after a change of government and introduce the abilities of Iranians to international decision-makers.
Kanaanī also said that the continuation of these events for Iranians inside the country conveys a message of hope and solidarity. According to her, these gatherings, in the face of efforts to instill despair, depict a vision of a different future and emphasize the role of the Iranian people in determining the fate of the country and the importance of cohesion and organization.
