🎥 For thousands of families on the coasts of southern Iran, the sea is not just an economic route; it is a way of life.
A report by Maryam Dehkordi titled “Breath with a number: The economy of the sea as told by the fishermen of Hormozgan” tells the stories of fishermen, sailors, and families who, amid insecurity, work restrictions, fuel crises, and reduced maritime activity, have been caught between saving lives and earning a living.
In an interview with Hoda Karimi, a human rights activist, we discussed the human and social dimensions of this crisis and the impact of insecurity on the lives of people in southern Iran.
