For the first time in Israel, chest reconstruction with 3D printing.

Doctors at the Beilinson Hospital successfully reconstructed a young woman’s chest using a 3D-printed implant.

The patient was suffering from a very rare tumor, with only about 20 cases registered worldwide, that was destroying her sternum.

The chest surgeons removed her sternum and part of her ribs, and then replaced them with an implant that had been specifically designed to match the patient’s anatomy.

The operation was successful, and the patient is recovering at home.

This exceptional medical achievement in Israel shows how innovation and technology can open new horizons for saving human lives and improving the quality of life.
