🔶 Statistics Center: Iran’s population is now more than 87 million
According to the latest estimates by the Statistical Center, Iran’s population is currently 87,777,777 people.
Based on the Statistical Center of Iran’s announcement, the country’s population has been on an upward trend during the years 1396 to 1407, and in another two years the country’s population will reach 88 million. Even now, the country’s population has surpassed 87 million.
The estimate also shows that population growth will mainly occur in urban areas; in such a way that the urban population will increase from 60,304,000 people in 1396 to 68,994,000 people in 1407.
In contrast, the population of rural and non-resident areas will decline from about 20,749,000 to 19,196,000, indicating the continuation of the trend of urbanization in Iran.
An interesting point in the Statistical Center’s estimates is that, contrary to the statistics of most Western countries in all the years of the forecast, the number of men will be slightly higher than the number of women.
